Overview
Consolidation and strengthening of the process for drawing up the National Medium-Term Budgetary and Structural Plan (MTPs) and the respective Annual Progress Reports (APRs), which will replace the National Reform Programme (PNR) and the Stability Programme (PE) from 2024 onwards. The government, through the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Presidency, is responsible for drawing them up, and they are coordinated by GPEARI and PLANAPP.
Objectives
- Contribute to the public policy decision-making process throughout the public policy cycle;
- Ensure quality in decision support;
- Strengthen networking within the scope of REPLAN – Public Administration Planning and Foresight Services Network;
- Ensure the follow-up and monitoring of MTPs implementation by drawing up the APRs.
Duration
The project began in May 2024 and runs continuously. In addition to the four-yearly submission of the MTPs to the European Commission, its implementation is monitored annually during its term by submitting the APRs by 30 April each year.
