Overview

Portugal is committed to pursuing the 2030 Agenda.

RCM no. 5/2023 of 23 January defines the model for coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), repositioning the coordination of the 2030 Agenda at the centre of government and creating a monitoring structure with a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach.

PLANAPP is responsible for supporting the Presidency’s area of government in coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the SDGs and fulfilling the competences assigned to it in this area.

Objectives

• Coordinate internal reporting activities on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, including the drafting of the National Voluntary Reports;
• Coordinate the drafting and implementation of the National Roadmap for Sustainable Development 2030;
• Monitor plans and other national public policy instruments that contribute to the implementation of the SDGs and their targets, with a view to ensuring their overall coherence;
• Promote, in conjunction with the various entities in the public, private and social sectors, as well as civil society, initiatives that contribute to assessing the impact of the implementation of the SDGs.

Duration

This project began in January 2023 and will accompany the 2030 Agenda.
